Pam Bondi demanded Apple to remove ICE tracking apps as she stated it would put ICE officials in danger due to the increased violence towards people who “risk their lives every day to keep America safe” This Thursday the Department of Justice raised concerns for the risk of individuals who work in the offices provided by the government for those who arrest and deport immigrants as instructed by the Trump Administration. These apps greatly influence awareness of illegal immigrants in the United States of America and the constant raids of cities and workplaces by ICE. Apple did so under great pressure from the Trump administration’s DOJ. After constant threats and vicious demands.
It was reported that due to an individual identified as Joshua Jahn, who fired on an ICE base office in Dallas, Texas, and set fire from a rooftop, killing one detainee and critically injuring two others. The detained immigrants were not his targets, but the personnel. One of the injured was a 32-year-old male father of four, who eventually died due to the severity of the injuries. Marcos Charles, who is an acting ICE agent, reported that Joshua’s intention was to murder the ICE personnel, and recent reports have shown that violent attempts on ICE have skyrocketed. Joshua fired on the ICE base on Sept. 24, 2025, and the FBI said a bullet with “ANTI-ICE” on it was found at the scene of the crime after the act.
The article states that, “Joshua Aaron, ICEBlock’s creator, said he was “incredibly disappointed by Apple’s actions today.” Due to the constant support for the safety of ICE personnel but not a care for the safety of illegal immigrants who actually provide a positive impact on this country, it is not acknowledged. Aaron also stated that he was obligated to every request of the government. Especially during times like these, when taking a stance and making a point is important and seemingly effective. Specifically, the younger audience is surrounded by individuals of different backgrounds. One of my peers from my class, Samantha Abambari, a junior at Flushing High School, stated that this issue makes her feel scared for what could happen because of her cultural background and claimed that this is even more concerning in a country that claims liberty and freedom for all. One of the safety protocols she believes could be of help in a situation like this is reviewing safety protocols and our rights as citizens of this country.
This article, published on October 2, 2025, by Fox Business, aims to inform the public about the reason the availability of ICE tracking apps on app stores is no longer downloadable for identifying the whereabouts of ICE agents.
Pam Bondi delivered her speech during a news conference at DEA headquarters on July 15, 2025, in Arlington, and put a deadly start to an ongoing hate line.
