Nowadays many immigrants and children of immigrants are afraid of going outside because they know Trump has no respect for immigrants. Any immigrant can be sent back to their home country, whether they’re here legally or not. Many are here legally just waiting for their day in court to determine their refugee and asylum status. People are so afraid of getting deported that some have been protesting, many who are children of immigrants because they are they want to speak up for those who can’t.
Many people want to show the government that humans are not illegal and that they aren’t criminals just because they are an immigrant. Immigrants are very hard working people, they contribute a lot to American society and the American economy.
President Trump has called for the “largest deportation program in American history.” This means he wants to deport a lot of undocumented immigrants in the U.S. He is doing everything he can to make a huge change in American society, and for some people that are sent back to their home countries it could mean being executed by the cartels that they were forced to run away from.
Immigrants who have been living and working here for decades are facing chances of losing their jobs and face deportation right now in 2025. Trump wants to make America better by eliminating every immigrant in the country but America was founded on the idea of immigration. It is a country that has always had its arms open to welcome immigrants for their chance at the “American Dream.” If this idea changes during the Trump administration, it makes some of us wonder about what will happen to the “American Dream” for future generations.
